I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted here. Lots has happened, but today, I’m back training for IRONMAN TEXAS 2019 in April and then plan to do IRONMAN ARIZONA in November.
So today I decided to post because it’s been a breakthrough week. Last week I was feeling really exhausted and my coach gave me more of a recovery schedule. This helped. But for so long, I would get up every day and do my workout, sometimes two day, and for months and months and months, wouldn’t see any improvement. Sometimes, I went backwards.
Not this week. Today, I did a CSS test and got a new CSS of 1:50. A significant drop for me. Sunday, I rode 65 miles and averaged 16.9 mph, that’s 2 mph faster than I raced in Waco and a good 3-4 mph faster than my average training pace same time last year. And last month, I had a PR at the Houston Half Marathon with an average pace of 8:45.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have a long way to go. But to finally see some improvement after working so hard for so long brings me so much joy.
Keep showing up…..keep working hard. Remember your why. Enjoy the journey.

This is AWESOME! And now your new CSS is public! LOL!
